Watch and Learn (Er, Read)
On the eighth day of My Twelve Days of Challenges, I’m bookchatting about The Read the Book, See the Movie Challenge.
Matinee: One Book, One Movie
This challenge was the perfect opportunity to revisit Margaret Laurence’s wonderfully-accomplished novel,The Stone Angel, in conjunction with a viewing of the film.
So, I signed up for Matinee: One Book, One Movie.
The Stone Angel: Book
“The Stone Angel”: Movie
And, for bonus points:
Jest of God: Book
“Rachel, Rachel”: Movie
It took me until November to make time for this challenge, but I loved it.
I’m not sure how I’ll do it, but I’d like to arrange for this to happen more often.
Have you paired up a book and a movie lately?
PS How challenging? Maybe a 2…I mean, I did have to walk to the movie shop.
It depends on my mood: sometimes I find that the idea of a different interpretation annoys me, but, in the right mood, I find it fascinating to compare and contrast. (That phrase always makes me think of English exams though!)
I’m not one who likes to see movies if I’ve already read the book, or vice versa. Probably this isn’t the challenge for me!
