I have a little spreadsheet that I keep for tracking the books I’ve committed to reading for Reading Challenges. Come on, this isn’t as weird as it sounds, right? I mean, I know some people use those programs with formulae and stuff, but surely most people use them for important things like book-related data?
In this case my sheet has proven imminently useful for recording the names of books that might indeed be even more appealing than the list of six which I initially had in mind for this challenge. S’okay, it’s not one of those Sign-In-Blood things: it’s officially sanctioned that we readers of the Bibliophilic Challenge can change our books about our target reads. And, in my case, nowhere is this more possible than in this challenge.
But, on sign-up day, these are the six titles (which will earn me the title of Litlover) that I thought sounded most appealing, including two about bookstores, two about libraries, and two by self-professed book-addicts:
The Yellow-Lighted Bookshop Lewis Buzbee
Time Was Soft There: A Paris Sojourn at Shakespeare & Co., Jeremy Mercer
The Library at Night Alberto Manguel
Library: An Unquiet History Matthew Battles
A Pound of Paper, Confessions of a Book Addict, John Baxter
An Alphabetical Life: Living it up in the World of Books, Wendy Werris
