Dewey’s Read-a-Thon is coming: Saturday October 22nd, 2011.
Here’s the link to the sign-up page. (✔)
Here’s the link to be a cheer-leader. (✔ ✔)
And over there? That stack of spineless material?
That’s the bunch of books that I’ve gathered. (✔ ✔ ✔)
Yes, it’s only one day. Well, 24 hours. Assuming no sleep. (Which I’m terrible at.)
And I’ve got a commitment for the bulk of that day. (Besides sleeping.)
But I never leave the house without a book. A couple of these will tag along.
Last year I read with the 1001 Books to Read Before You Croak list in mind.
I read four of them. (Not enough to raise the likelihood of my reading them all.)
But it was fun. Especially the cheering. And those pom-poms opening the door to new bookish friendships.
So this year, I have another theme in mind. But I can already see a weakness in my plan. You too?
All those books over there? All quite fat and juicy.
Can’t you see those reading arteries clogging now. I’ll be nodding off in no time.
That stack needs some skinny-minnies to cleanse the palate.
Or a couple of bon-bons to sweeten the meal.
That’s okay: I still have a week to add an unreasonable number of courses to this menu.
And it’s not too late for you to jot the Read-a-Thon into your reading plans.
Are you making plans?
Go Team TRIX!
::shakes pom poms::
lol I love your check list
Thanks, Lisa. I’d be embarrassed to say how long it took me to learn how to make those little check-marks show up. Heh.
Uh not the year for me to begin readathon-ing unfortunately but I’m dying to find out what books youve stashed for this event!
No, you’re too busy wee-reader-a-thon-ing: I get it! (There should be cheer-leaders for that event too.)
I can’t wait to find out what you’re reading for the read-a-thon! I still haven’t decided whether or not to join. I probably will but will be very low-maintenance about the whole thing.
Low-maintenance is likely a great approach. I know I won’t end up reading very many pages in the end, but it’ll be fun!
